A major fire brigade operation took place in an industrial company in Hörgertshausen on Sunday morning.

A fire broke out on Sunday in the Hallertau community of Hörgertshausen.

Numerous forces were called into action and the state highway is blocked.

- Numerous emergency services in the northern district of Freising had a very short night: In the early hours of Sunday morning, more precisely at 4.26 a.m., a total of around 90 members of the fire brigade, the rescue service, the police and later also the THW were ordered to Hörgertshausen: There was one A fire broke out in an industrial plant.

As district fire officer Manfred Danner reported to our newspaper, two containers with press waste caught fire on the site of the plastics processing company on Moosburger Straße.

The volunteer fire departments from Hörgertshausen, Mauern, Baumgarten and Moosburg had to use large amounts of extinguishing foam to get the flames under control.

During the course of the operation, volunteers from THW Freising also helped fight the fire, using an excavator to remove the burning material from the container so that it could be extinguished.

As Danner reports, according to initial findings, no one was injured during the operation.

Nothing is currently known about the causes of the fire.

Because of the extinguishing work, Moosburger Straße (state road 2085) had to be completely closed for hours.

According to Danner, the traffic obstruction should be lifted around 10:30 a.m.

Red Cross helpers were also on duty, supporting the firefighting forces with hot coffee and food.

A tent was also set up for those wearing respiratory protection so that they could warm up again after the strenuous work in the cold.

It was said that the smoke development had no impact on surrounding residential buildings because the wind carried the smoke away from Hörgertshausen.
