The Minister responsible for Equality between Women and Men and the Fight affirmed on Sunday midday that there would be “no stop” from the Independent Commission on Incest and Sexual Violence Against Children.


The Independent Commission on Incest and Sexual Violence Against Children (Ciivise), weakened after the departure of its leaders just a few days after resuming its work,

“will continue

,” declared Minister Aurore Bergé.

“There is no stopping the Ciivise (...) Yes it will continue”

, insisted the Minister responsible for Equality between women and men and the Fight against discrimination, this Sunday on Radio J.

The commission is not formally within the scope of Ms. Bergé but within those of Catherine Vautrin, Minister of Labor, Health and Solidarity and Sarah El Haïry, Minister Delegate in charge of Children, Youth and Families .

Following the resignation of the president of the body on Thursday evening, the Ministry of Health said it wanted to bring together

“in the coming weeks the players in the sector to study the follow-up to be given to the commission”

.

Judge Durand’s “sincere

commitment

La Ciivise was launched in March 2021, in the wake of the publication of Camille Kouchner's book,

“La Familia grande”

, which denounces the incest committed on her brother by the political scientist Olivier Duhamel.

For almost three years, she revealed the mechanisms of incest, its destructive lifelong effects on victims and its cost for society, work praised by many actors in society.

The government announced in December that it would remain in place, but by removing Edouard Durand, a media children's judge who had tirelessly denounced the dysfunctions of the justice system.

He renewed his roadmap and changed his management team.
