Miguel Ángel Pichetto, on the possible alliance between La Libertad Avanza and the PRO: "It would be interesting for the Government"

2024-02-11T16:53:28.670Z

Highlights: Miguel Ángel Pichetto, leader of the We Make Federal Coalition, says he is not surprised by the possible alliance. He says it would strengthen the Government, especially after the defeat of the Omnibus Law. "We must get out of this plane of confrontation that does not serve the Government," he says. The possible agreement with the PRO "adds to the Government" in seeking to "consolidate the parliamentary majority," he adds. The deal would be a "natural process" in which "there is almost no important ideological difference"

The deputy and head of the Podemos Federal Coalition group assured that the agreement will strengthen Javier Milei "at the level of Congress." He also asked to "de-dramatize" the official defeat with the Omnibus Law and to maintain a dialogue with other forces.

Deputy

Miguel Ángel Pichetto

, president of the We Make Federal Coalition bloc, said this Sunday that

he is not "surprised"

by the possible formation of a political alliance between La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and the PRO, considering that this eventual unity would allow him to

" strengthen"

the Government and the ruling party in Congress, especially after the brakes suffered in the debate on the Omnibus Law.

"If it makes an alliance with the PRO,

it would be interesting for the Government

to strengthen itself at the level of Congress, where it has a very minority structure in both chambers, and in the Executive;

the alliance suits them

," said Pichetto in statements to

Radio Splendid

.

The experienced legislator added that the political link between Javier Milei and the PRO is

"almost natural"

because former president

Mauricio Macri and his party "played in favor" of the libertarian

in the runoff last November.

After the election, Macri and Milei shook hands and, in parallel, Patricia Bullrich joined the Government as Minister of Security.

"I am not surprised that they are close or talking to be able to expand the

support base

of the Government," added the leader and former Macri running mate in 2019.

The possible agreement with the PRO, Pichetto analyzed,

"adds to the Government"

in seeking to "consolidate the parliamentary majority", a key condition, he said, "

to govern for four years

."

"It is important to do so and

not break with some sectors that were allies

and with whom there were nuances and differences, which should not have been resolved at the level of controversy," said Pichetto, in a reference to his legislative space and the UCR. .

Last Friday, from Rome, Milei admitted that he is

"willing to merge with the PRO"

, after Bullrich spoke about the subject in an interview.

As Clarín was able to find out, behind closed doors he admitted that "it would be very good for

an interblock

to be organized between La Libertad Avanza and the PRO to start the ordinary elections with a different force."

In line with Pichetto's words, the President told his people that it would be a natural process, in which "there is almost no

important ideological difference

."

Bullrich, meanwhile, said this Saturday that in the last elections, the PRO was "

much closer to Milei's ideas than to Rodríguez Larreta's ideas

, without insulting or belittling him but as an objective description," he expressed on radio

Rivadavia

.

Pichetto asked to "de-dramatize" the fall of the Omnibus Law

Migue Ángel Pichetto, who currently chairs the bench made up of legislators from the Federal Change, Civic Coalition and We Do for Córdoba parties - many in Milei's sights, accused of being "traitors" - asked the Government to "

de-dramatize"

the brakes suffered in the Congress for the Bases bill, and "find

a path of dialogue and positive construction

in Argentina."

"We must

get out of this plane of confrontation that does not serve

the Government. Argentina needs tranquility and find a path of peace and dialogue. The Government must build a majority in the chambers of Deputies and Senators to be able to govern. If the It is difficult to build bridges for the majority," he concluded.

The former senator, who was very close to Cristina Kirchner during his terms and was a candidate for Macri's vice president, served in recent weeks as

one of the deputies who had the most dialogue with the Milei Government

in the negotiations for the Omnibus Law.

In fact, although his block mostly rejected the articles that made the law fail, he supported what was proposed by La Libertad Avanza and

raised his hand in a positive sign in everything

that could be discussed about the frustrated law.

And Milei highlighted it and thanked him.
