Wolfratshausen: Review of the annual general meeting of the Wolfratshausen Volunteer Fire Department: There was a lot to do last year for the 94 active members of the fire department.

At the annual general meeting, District Fire Commissioner Erich Zengerle and Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner were impressed.

14,585 hours of volunteer work

“Hats off to this achievement,” congratulated Zengerle.

In his speech, the district fire council particularly emphasized the importance of the Wolfratshausen training location.

Last year, the active members worked 7,626 hours in exercises and training alone.

In addition, there are thousands more hours in a total of 338 missions, resulting in a total of 14,585 hours.

The Florians’ disciples deserved “highest social recognition”.

“You deserve the highest social recognition,” praised Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner.

The most modern equipment and the best technical devices would be of no use if they could not be operated.

Wolfratsausen fire department: From exhausting operations to major fires

Commander Andreas Bauer previously reported on sometimes strenuous operations.

During the major fire in the Gerb car repair shop on Geltinger Straße on March 8th, the new HLF 20 emergency fire engine was in use for more than eleven hours and therefore even had to be refueled with a diesel tank at the scene.

Due to the high flames, several firefighters sustained minor injuries.

“As the leader of such a large and dangerous operation, you sometimes get thoughtful,” Bauer admitted.

A big thank you to everyone who worked hard, including with little sleep

The Floriansjüngers were also heavily stressed by traffic accidents, chemical accidents, snow clearing operations and the flooding on the Loisach-Isar Canal.

The commander thanked his comrades, most of whom were needed to return to work after night-time missions with little sleep.

“Let’s see how long such a burden can be managed unpaid with volunteers,” mused Bauer.

This makes intact club life seem all the more important.

“The promotion of camaraderie should be a balance to the obligations and burdens,” emphasized club chairman Florian Seitner.

Dart tournaments, Törggelen evenings and excursions strengthened solidarity.

For example, members of all age groups came together on a trip to Franconian Switzerland.

In a minute's silence, Seitner remembered the members Heinrich Mannl and Herbert Schölderle, who died in 2023.

Homage for loyalty

Andreas Bauer and Florian Seitner honored the long-standing members: Wolfgang Schleibinger (50 years of active service and club), Günther Berchtold (50 years), Franz Gehring (50 years), Erich Roth (40), Hans Fagner, Andreas Spohn, Wolfgang Wandinger (30 years of active service each), Florian Braun, Andreas Schröfele (20 years of active service each) and Matthias Huber and Anian Stocker (10 years of active service).
