There was a moment, over 30 years ago, when Amadeus and Fiorello were two of the many private radio correspondents who asked for a pass to be able to closely follow and report on the Sanremo Festival.
Paola Pezzolla, press office and agent for many artists, was in charge of the pass office at the time.
"They were the Festivals organized by Adriano Aragozzini, at the beginning of the nineties. Reopening a briefcase that I had on the mezzanine, I found, among many papers, the pass with the photo of a young Amadeus, with the same optimistic smile as today. C 'it says 'Radio Deejay, pass number 234'. Fiorello's was number 235 of that year, proving that they have always traveled arm in arm", he says smiling.
"We had hundreds of accreditation requests. Daniela Piu took care of the passes of journalists and entrepreneurs, I took care of the requests from private Italian and international radio and TV stations but in reality I issued passes to the broadcasters that were practically useless in the sense that they did not allow entry to the Palafiori, stage of the Festival in '90, and at the Ariston, since '91. However, they were small trophies for all the kids who, like Amadeus and Fiorello, loved the Festival", he concludes.
And who could have imagined that those two boys would one day go up on that stage and write one of the most successful pages in the history of the Festival with stellar ratings.
