Three new bars in Geretsried invite you to celebrate: “Karl 13”, “Die Galerie” and the bar “Shadows” have recently opened.

Geretsried – The still young year started well for all those who are looking for alternatives to the trendy bars in Munich and Bad Tölz.

Two new Geretsried restaurants opened a few weeks ago: the “Shadows” on Hirschenweg and the “Galerie” on Jeschkenstraße 13.

In addition, the “Karl 13” café on Karl-Lederer-Platz, which opened in September 2023, invites you to after-work parties, wine evenings and carnival celebrations.

“A city of 26,000 inhabitants with a large catchment area can tolerate a lot of bars,” says Ioannis Tsogkas with certainty.

The managing director of the “Galerie” opened a new cocktail bar at the end of December 2023 in the rooms of the former “By Friends” and “GlasHouse” at Jeschkenstraße 13.

Among other things, hip-hop, RnB and dancehall parties with DJs as well as themed evenings are on offer.

There's even a stripper performing at the women's carnival on February 8th.

On other opening days, happy hours attract people with cheap cocktails and shots.

If you're in good shape, you can even party in the gallery until 5 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

On Thursday the bar closes between 1 and 2 a.m. depending on crowds.

“We want to create a meeting place here for people between 20 and 50 years old,” says Tsogkas.

In a few months, “Die Galerie” will be open during the day in the form of a café with a small menu.

Around three kilometers further north, Kornelia Schmidt and Walter Niebler have set up shop in the rooms of the former “Papperlapub” at Hirschenweg 1.

In addition to cocktails and Tegernsee beer, the couple who live in Wolfratshausen also offer culinary delicacies in “Shadows”.

The burgers prepared by Kornelia Schmidt impress thanks to juicy beef, crispy buns and homemade sauces.

There is usually a rock sound playing in the background from Thursday to Sunday.

After-work party and wine evening: Karl 13 is happy about the large number of visitors

After the unsuccessful previous uses - an Irish pub and a tapas bar only lasted there for a short time - the location near the school center is set to develop into a serious address for night owls.

“Karl 13” managing director Michaela Kunstmann is already pleased about the large number of visitors.

Thanks to the central location and the friendly service, the tables in the former Waldmanns Café Lounge are almost full, not only during the day.

At two South Tyrolean Törggelen wine evenings in autumn and an after-work party in January, guests also stayed seated a little longer.

“People are literally dying for something to move again in the city,” says Kunstmann.

The next mood highlights are imminent with the women's carnival and Shrove Tuesday (February 13th).

On these two days the celebrations in “Karl 13” last until at least 10 p.m.

No fewer than 15 employees will then pamper the fools with cocktails and snacks.

“Unlike other restaurants, we don’t have any staffing problems and we’re in a great position,” says Kunstmann, calmly looking forward to the expected rush.
