Residents woke up to the sounds of chainsaws.
This Monday morning, the machines began to fell the first plane trees on rue Charles-Infroit in Champigny-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne).
In total, 106 are expected to be cut by the chainsaw by February 23.
On one of the trees, a sign prohibits driving and parking due to “development of green spaces on behalf of the city”.

Information which did not allow residents and members of the Anti-chainsaw Collective to prepare a mobilization as they would have liked, after having multiplied the letters and mobilized nearly 40,000 signatories on an online petition.
Despite the presence of a few opponents this Monday, the first plane trees began to fall in the morning.
