Emmanuel Macron and Donald Tusk celebrated this Monday in Paris the reunion between France and Poland after more tense years, insisting on the

of Europe, at a time when the possible return of Donald Trump to the United States may threaten transatlantic solidarity.

,” said the French president, welcoming the Polish prime minister to the Élysée.
“I want to tell you here our friendship and the joy of meeting you again, and of being able to have, through you and your government, trusted, pro-European partners, clear on European security
,” he added in front of the press.
Donald Tusk stressed that he wanted to
“revitalize”
these relations and
“revitalize the Weimar triangle”,
according to the nickname given to cooperation between France, Germany and Poland, which has been put on hold in recent years.
The heads of diplomacy from the three countries were to meet in the afternoon near Paris, while the Polish prime minister was to travel to Berlin at the same time to see German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
