Gilching – The Starnberg District Community Foundation has been supporting social projects, among other things, for many years.
A donation of 1,500 euros went to the non-profit association Ecumenical Aid eV, the provider of the Katharina Funk mother-child home in Gilching.
In this house, six single mothers who come from an emergency situation are currently finding a safe roof over their heads for a transitional period of two years under which they can reorganize their living conditions.
The mothers are supported by social-educational support, with the help of which they can find a regular everyday life for themselves and their children.
With the donation, the house can also finance therapeutic support for the women in building a trusting and stronger mother-child relationship.
This can be interrupted, especially when processing traumatic experiences.
“The contribution of the community foundation, which can help young mothers and their children in this regard, is all the more valuable,” said the second chairman of Ecumenical Aid Bernhard Balg.
