India is closely related to the British royal family through the Mountbatten line.
However, it was only during the wedding preparations that she came into close contact with Diana.
Hicks told the
Dailymail
: "During these rehearsals I met Diana, who I first met at a dress fitting." Diana was warm and friendly to her.
She said in retrospect that she seemed like an innocent and clumsy child at the time.
