After the private audience with Pope Francis in the Vatican, President Javier Milei met this Monday in Rome with the Italian premier,
Giorgia Meloni.
The meeting took place at the Palazzo Chigi and the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, was also present;
Chancellor Diana Mondino; Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos;
and the Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello.
A while before, Milei had held a meeting with his Italian counterpart, Sergio Mattarella, with whom he agreed to "begin a new stage in the bilateral relationship and give
a sign of confidence for investments."

Milei and the Italian president held a meeting at the Quirinal Palace of the so-called "eternal city", in an exchange that had as its axis "the link between both countries", it was officially reported.
The head of state attended accompanied by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei;
Foreign Minister Diana Mondino;
the Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos, and the Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello.
Along with Mattarella, an 82-year-old lawyer and brother of a prosecutor murdered by the mafia, was the Italian chancellor, Antonio Tajani, who later added the presidency of the European country.

Mattarella was elected in 2015 for a first term and was then re-elected in 2022.
The meeting took place after the audience of more than an hour that Milei had with Pope Francis.
