Nearly 30 people were injured in a crash involving two boats near the Port of Miami, Florida, authorities said.
The crash took place in Fisherman Channel near Dodge Island, several miles from the Port of Miami, around 3:15 p.m. (local time).

A total of 30 units from the Miami-Dade Fire Department, the Miami Fire Department and the Coast Guard responded to the scene of the incident.

13 people were taken to a nearby hospital
, according to the Miami Fire Department.
Other patients were evaluated and discharged at the scene.
According to authorities, a tourist boat from Bayside, a popular destination in South Florida, and another recreational boat apparently were involved in the collision.
The reasons for the collision were not immediately determined.
