Despite higher temperatures, the cold season is not over.
The forecasts show that there are still weeks of winter ahead for Germany.
Munich – The start of February was quite mild in many parts of Germany.
The days are getting longer again and the weather is slowly indicating an end to winter.
It will continue to be mostly mild for the next few days, accompanied by a lot of rain.
However, anyone hoping for an early start to spring will be disappointed by the European weather model.
The forecasts show that the more spring-like temperatures will end in mid-February.
From Rose Monday it will be significantly cooler and winter could move in again.

The monthly forecast from the European weather model shows mild temperatures from February 5th to February 12th that are well above the long-term climate average.
In the week from February 12th to February 19th, temperatures in Germany and Western Europe will drop, cool air masses will become noticeable and will probably lead to a new onset of winter in Germany.
According to the weather model, it will be even colder the following week.
From February 19th to February 26th, temperatures drop from Eastern to Western Europe.
We can therefore speak of a cold snap from mid-February, which, according to the weather forecast, can last for two weeks in Germany.
From February 26th, the cold air will move further north, although the cool air can still be felt in northern Germany.
In the first week of March the temperatures are balanced again, only on the edge of the Alps could they be slightly above the long-term climate average again.
From March onwards you can hope again that winter is finally over.
