Security is an important aspect for citizens in major German cities.

According to a ranking, a metropolis in Baden-Württemberg is one of the safest cities in the country.

Stuttgart - Riots, attacks and fights in this country repeatedly raise the question: How safe are Germany's cities?

In Baden-Württemberg, the “Night of Riots” in the state capital Stuttgart in June 2020 sparked a major debate about security.

From the point of view of many citizens, the Swabian metropolis suffered considerable damage to its image and the discussions keep coming up.

In May 2023, the Federal Criminal Police Office will publish the police crime statistics (PKS), which will provide a detailed overview of all crimes that were reported to the police in the previous year.

This includes theft, fraud, damage to property, bodily harm, drug offenses and other crimes (e.g. murder, rape, illegal possession of weapons).

The safest city in the Federal Republic is the Bavarian capital Munich - the metropolis has taken first place for the fifth time in a row.
