An extraordinary celebratory mood arises at Lake Starnberg during the carnival season.

A variety of events invited and continue to invite locals and visitors alike to immerse themselves in the hustle and bustle and experience the diversity of customs.

There will be more celebrations today and tomorrow - and then it's time to see you next year, dear carnival!

A special highlight is the 14th Starnberg Garderevue in the Schlossberghalle, which takes place today on Rose Monday.

Admission begins at 5:30 p.m., and from 6 p.m. guests can enjoy a spectacular program that not only includes show programs from friendly gardeners from near and far, but also the awarding of the Order of the Water Lily.

This high award is given annually to a Starnberg personality who has particularly distinguished himself in political and cultural areas - a tradition that was started in 1988 by Court Marshal Karl-Heinz Scherze.

At Beccult, the fraternity celebrates the Rose Monday Ball at 7 p.m.

The finale will be “Ruckizucki” and the traditional “Kehraus” from 6 p.m. at Beccult on Tuesday, February 21st at 3 p.m.

A Rose Monday party will take place in the Midgardstadl in Tutzing from 12 p.m. to midnight.

There, on Shrove Tuesday, there will be a sweepstakes with the band “Kzwoa”, which plays a mixture of folk music, oldies and hits, rock, pop and party music.

On Sunday, the storytelling café took place in the Starnberger See Museum, where around 20 people from Starnberg reminisced about past carnival times.

Gisela Baumann, organizer of the storytelling café, told stories of lively masked parades, cellar festivals and a Gaudi wheelbarrow race around Lake Starnberg.

But it wasn't just the past carnival celebrations that had something to offer.

From the lively women's carnival in Hechendorf, which delights with show dancing, men's ballet and thrilling music and dance, to the relaxed carnival parties in the Starnberg Castle Theater, which invite you without the need for costumes, to the culturally enriching events of the Starnberg carnival society Perchalla eV - the variety of carnival activities is impressive.

The carnival activity on the church square in Starnberg rounds off the diverse offering and offers a colorful program for young and old on Tuesday, February 13th, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Perchalla carnival society is very active again this year - it follows in the evening At 6 p.m. in the multi-purpose hall in Percha, the traditional prince's funeral, with which this year's carnival will be symbolically buried.
