Collaboration agreement between the National Research Center (Cnr) and Enea (the National Agency for new technologies, energy and sustainable economic development) for the promotion and implementation of joint research and development projects at national and international level in a broad spectrum of disciplines.
This was announced in a joint statement which explains that the agreement has a duration of five years.
The presidents of the Cnr Maria ChiaraCarrozza and of Enea Gilberto Dialuce signed the agreement.
Among the objectives, "the valorisation and dissemination of technical-scientific knowledge, the creation, sharing and promotion of research infrastructures, advanced training and the offering of services, as well as the transfer of technologies, products and know-how to third parties".
The initiatives will particularly concern the energy production, distribution and storage sectors;
new sources and renewable energy carriers, including hydrogen;
smart grids; energy efficiency;
space and blue economy;
climate dynamics;
sustainability and circularity of territorial production systems and nuclear fusion.
A joint steering committee composed of six members will be established to define the programmatic themes covered by the agreement itself.
The president of the Cnr, Carrozza, noted that "the sectors identified reflect the challenges that research must face in responding to major global changes".
The alliance between the two major research institutions at national level, as declared by the president of Enea Dialuce, "makes it possible to pool skills, experiences, infrastructures, professionalism and know-how in strategic sectors for decarbonisation and the ecological transition and to promote research and technological innovation to promote the growth and competitiveness of the country system".
