“Tatort” star Jan Josef Liefers was recently shocked to discover that he had been declared dead in some online media.

Now the actor is letting off steam.

Berlin – It must be strange to stumble across your own death report in the media: “Tatort” actor Jan Josef Liefers (59) unfortunately recently had this experience through his own suffering.

He makes it more than clear on Instagram how the Berliner feels about the fake news.

“Died tragically”: Jan Josef Liefers shares fake news about his own death

The actor regularly celebrates great success as a Münster forensic doctor: one of Jan Josef Liefers' “Tatort” episodes was even the most successful TV show of 2023 - good news for the TV actor.

Now the 59-year-old had to deal with very shocking news - namely that of his own death.

Some online portals mistakenly report this.

The “Tatort” actor has now taken a stand on this.

“I wanted to be the first to tell you, but I just found out myself: I unfortunately died tragically yesterday,” writes Jan Josef Liefers under the uploaded screenshots of the said online media.

He also adds: “Shit.

But hey, thanks social media!

You make the world a more beautiful place and us better people.” Is there a bit of cynicism there?

The “crime scene” phenomenon

Since the first “Tatort” episode “Taxi nach Leipzig” was broadcast on November 29, 1970, the weekly crime series has developed into a true TV phenomenon and brings ARD an audience of millions with each new episode.

To date, an impressive 102 investigators have appeared on the successful show - with the Munich duo Ivo Batic (Miroslav Nemec, 69) and Franz Leitmayr (Udo Wachtveitl, 65) recording the most missions.

Of the 22 constantly changing locations and teams - including Ludwigshafen, Vienna, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Zurich and Bremen - Frank Thiel (Axel Prahl, 63) and Prof. Dr.

Dr.

Karl-Friedrich Boerne (Jan Josef Liefers, 59) from Münster was the most popular, as a survey by

 from 2022 showed.

Jan Josef Liefers' followers react to the news of his death with pure sarcasm

There are a lot of sarcastic comments in the comments section.

"Cool!

Will you then autopsy yourself at the cathedral?

“Just that I know what to prepare,” writes the make-up artist from the Münster “crime scene”.

"I miss you.

“See you on the bike in the afterlife in Mallorca,” fellow actor Oliver Masucci (55) ironically expresses his condolences and a “Tatort” fan sarcastically asks about Jan Josef Liefers’ cause of death.

Many fans are also shocked by the false reports and find them tasteless.

But the followers can breathe a sigh of relief: because of course this is just fake news.

Fans will soon be able to watch a new ARD criminal case with the Berliner, although the last Münster “crime scene” with Jan Josef Liefers left viewers rather disappointed.
