Carnival dispute in Schongau: 26-year-old slightly injures four people with pepper spray.
Investigations into assault and weapons law violations are ongoing.
Schongau - Yesterday, Sunday, February 11th, shortly after 6 p.m., according to Schongau police, there was an altercation between two groups of people during carnival in a restaurant on Karmeliterstrasse in Schongau, in which a 26-year-old man from the Landsberg district used pepper spray sprayed and four people were slightly injured.
As previously known, the 26-year-old and two friends got into an argument with another group on the restaurant's roof terrace.
There may also have been scuffles.
In the course of this, the 26-year-old apparently pulled out pepper spray and sprayed it into the opposing group.
Four people between the ages of 20 and 22, all from the Weilheim-Schongau district, were slightly injured and had to be given medical care on site by alerted paramedics.
The 26-year-old opponent could no longer be found at first and the stolen pepper spray was confiscated.
The 26-year-old later presented himself to the security service and stated that he had previously been physically attacked by the four injured people.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against the 26-year-old for grievous bodily harm and for a violation of the Weapons Act because the pepper spray used is not approved and is considered a prohibited weapon.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
