Church can also do carnival: Father Jörg Müller has now provided proof of this.

His funny verses had a serious background.

Father Jörg Müller proved with his sermon in Freising's Pallotti Church that a clergyman can definitely put on a clown's nose.

Freising - As part of his carnival sermon, the 81-year-old found very clear words during the service and didn't mince his words.

He was significantly braver than many carnivalists at the usual carnival events.

Father Jörg Müller is concerned about a lot of things, some even very strongly - such as the shift to the right, to which he gave a few verses right at the beginning.

Clearly against AfD

“Anyone who votes for the AfD without being tainted and in protest can also drink water from the toilet because they don’t like the beer,” is how Müller clearly formulated his dislike for this party after putting on his clown nose.

His Lenten sermon: A wide arc in verse form.

The surprising thing: The priest was not afraid to address difficult topics with clear words. When it comes to people with right-wing views, his verse went like this: “There is no trace of reason, and when a guy like that, a stupid idiot, swallows a fly, he has “He has a lot more sense in his stomach than here in his head.”

Exclusion

But what also bothered him: There were only white children among the star singers this year, only one came from Africa, which he then rhymed like this: “Anyone who excludes black people, stands up because he is white, is experiencing his blue miracle and becomes grayer – because God is black and quite angry!”

injustice

But social injustice is also a concern for Müller, who praised citizens' willingness to donate, but would think it would be better if the rich were taxed more.

Then it would no longer be necessary to “show the poor to the table with warm words and to feed them with products of decay.”

The bureaucrats

Another problem he addressed: While there is a shortage of skilled workers, according to Müller there will never be a shortage - namely the bureaucrats.

His conclusion in this regard: “Let's admit that we became slaves to paragraphs that are far removed from life.” He then struck a much more serious tone - tones that ensured the church was as quiet as a mouse: “If Putin wins in Ukraine, then what comes next I mean, another bombardment date, first in Poland and then also in Germany." This verse doesn't rhyme because he can no longer make sense of it himself, said the priest.

But the church itself didn't get away unscathed either; in his opinion, it needed to renew itself, but it shouldn't become an action-event church.

Drastic words

“Inconsistencies must be stated in drastic terms,” explains Müller in writing at the end of his sermon, which could be taken home to read, and continues: “Jesus also did that, and was attacked because of it.

I still find my words far too harmless.” After his farewell greeting: “Hellauluja, Amen,” Father Jörg Müller was rewarded – with thunderous applause from a packed Pallotti Church.
