38 groups with more than 500 participants, local political satire and traffic light sayings: The first Würmtal carnival parade after the corona pandemic attracted 10,000 spectators on Sunday.

Krailling/Planegg -

It was cold, wet and gray, but that didn't stop the fools from taking up positions at the Kraillinger brewery well before the official start at 2 p.m., from where the Gaudiwurm moved to Planegger Bahnhofstrasse on Sunday.

Around 10,000 spectators lined the streets, well supplied with camels and prosecco from the cars.

Train organizer Matthias Niedermair rode in front on his motorized scooter, dressed entirely in black and white.

After the table bearers came the Schleißheim castle pipers and, as the first eye-catcher, the ladies from the Gräfelfing veterans and reservists' comradeship, all mops with light and dark green felt ribbons and upturned paper baskets with pool noodle handles on their heads: “If you spill red wine, the mop comes along .”

Sky blue tracksuits

One of the groups that spread non-political messages was the EC Planegg-Geisenbrunn, represented by three members - from the Engerl Express to the Highway to Hell.

SV Planegg-Krailling focused entirely on sport and the good old days when volunteer work was still a given.

“Back to 80's” was the motto on the car.

In keeping with the trendy, colorful era, participants wore sky blue tracksuits with pink stripes and pink headbands.

The preparations began six weeks ago, said Christian Zercher, who has been with the club since 1972 and was once again sitting on the seat of the tractor that pulled the car.

The DJK Würmtal was represented with a trailer inspired by the jungle camp: “I’m not a star, get me to the DJK.”

Pumuckl inspired on both the local and federal political levels.

The Kellerbrothers had rhymed: “Olaf sticks, everyone knows that, like I once only stuck to Eder’s glue.” And the Planegg fire department spread “New stories from Pumuckl”.

Brand new on the front of the trailer: “MorphoSys goes Switzerland” and on the side in reference to Mayor Hermann Nafziger: “Hurray, hurray, Hermann is finally here.

I prefer to play practical jokes and not spend too much money.”

The CSU Planegg had taken on the much-discussed artificial ice surface at the Feodor-Lynen-Gymnasium: “Is Planegg still experiencing its blue ice miracle?” Mayor Nafziger, who rode in the car himself, was immortalized as Ice Prince Hermann I with a crown and goatee.

Local councilor Adeline Spieleder distributed sweets as the ice princess, while her parliamentary group colleague Michael Book played the snowman.

Nafziger's predecessor in the Planegg mayor's office, Heinrich Hofmann, drove the tractor in a captain's uniform that pulled the SPD trailer: “Master of all citizens!

Why didn't anything happen?

Who will ever understand that?”

Gräfelfing's mayor Peter Köstler came to the set-up site as a spectator, his Neuried colleague Harald Zipfel attended the Würmesia carnival society in the uniform of the city guard.

The Graefelfingen fire department's steam locomotive was huge and black: “Königl.

Bavarian Railways – strike-free since 1919.” The railway strikes were also discussed elsewhere: “GDL – Go Run”.

And the Graefelfingen motorcycle club “Peacemaker Cycles” worked on the federal government: With bones in their hair, a club in their hand and a Flintstones mobile, they said: “Jabadabadu – with the traffic lights into the Stone Age in no time.”

The Stockdorf brass band saw Bavarian customs die out.

Protected from the rain, she played down from the trailer.

The Stockdorf fire department had prepared itself and its car as a “naughty little fruit”, and the Kraillinger comrades were already advertising their 150th anniversary, which will be celebrated at the beginning of May.

And the Neuried Wehr team and the Maypole Association created the “Neuried Fairytale Castle”.

The Maypole Friends of Stockdorf had given free rein to their joy in poetry: on the car, which was decorated with pictures of Bob the Builder, it said: “Administrative work and more, streets full of holes, Gauting's coffers empty, ideas are needed.” The neighboring community of Krailling is also not doing well financially The rolling donation box was evidence of this: “Please donate for school, town hall, building yard”.
