The Argentine government congratulated Israel this morning (Monday) on the successful release of Fernando Marman and Luis Har, who hold Argentine citizenship, from Hamas captivity, and their return to the bosom of the family - some of whose members were released in the hostage deals - received extensive coverage in the South American country.
"The President's Office thanks the IDF, the Shin Bet and the Israel Police for the successful rescue of the Argentines Fernando Simon Marman (60) and Luis Herr (70), who were kidnapped since October 7 by the terrorist organization Hamas," reads the X account of the Argentine presidency.

The two were kidnapped on October 7 from Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak, along with three other family members, Clara Marman, Fernando's sister and Luis' partner, and her sister Gabriela Leimberg and her 17-year-old daughter Mia.
The three were released in the hostage deals during the lull in November.
"After four months, two Argentinian hostages were released by the Israeli forces," read the home page of the "La Nacion" website, while the "Clarin" website described it as a "surprising operation" for their release.

The release of the two from the Rafah operation occurred about a week after the visit of Argentine President Javier Millay to Israel, during which he promised to move the embassy to Jerusalem and called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Yitzhak Herzog to release the other Argentine hostages.
Among the other abductees with Argentine citizenship held in Gaza are members of the Biebs family.

"We strongly condemn the terrorist activities of the terrorist organization Hamas, and we continue our solidarity towards the people and the State of Israel, and continue our support for Israel's legitimate right to self-defense," Millay said during a tour he conducted with Herzog in Nir Yitzhak last week.
