Highlights: In the Fiumicino airport, stained glass windows attributed to Giotto are on display - Lazio. The windows are part of a window dating back to around 1310, originally positioned in end of the right nave of the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence. Thanks to the new location in the setting of the new Pazza of Terminal 1, they will be able to be admired in the coming months by millions of passengers departing and arriving for national, European and intercontinental destinations.

ROME - At the conclusion of the ceremony for the 50th anniversary of Aeroporti di Roma, at Fiumicino airport, in the presence of the leaders of ADR and the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, the work of art loaned by the Cult Buildings Fund of the Ministry of the Interior located in Piazza del Molo A of Terminal 1: they are three stained glass windows attributed to Giotto which, exhibited today for the first time to the public, respectively depict the prophet Aaron, priest par excellence of the Old Testament , and two deacons.


    These windows, owned by the Fund for Cult Buildings of the Ministry of the Interior - an organization that ensures the protection, enhancement, conservation and restoration of our precious artistic heritage - constituted the upper part of a window dating back to around 1310, originally positioned in end of the right nave of the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence.

Thanks to the new location in the setting of the new Pazza of Terminal 1, they will be able to be admired in the coming months by millions of passengers departing and arriving for national, European and intercontinental destinations.


    "A union today with art to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Adr, to which I wish great wishes, and Fiumicino, one of the main ports of entry into Europe. As a Government we are strongly committed to bringing works of art to the people and enhance the heritage of our country, also stimulating social cohesion and with innovative projects for the recovery of youth hardship. The Ministry of the Interior is proud to take care of the works of the Cult Buildings Fund", said Piantedosi.

Today, therefore, the Leonardo da Vinci is increasingly positioning itself as a "widespread museum", enhancing the immense Italian cultural and artistic heritage in all its forms.

The new works of art presented during today's ceremony, which concluded with the video greeting from Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, President Emeritus of the Pontifical Council for Culture, are oriented exactly in this direction.
