Last Carnival Sunday, after what felt like an eternity of four years, Großweiler and Kleinweil experienced the most shrill spectacle in the picturesque Loisachtal - the “Großweiler Loisachwurm”.

Großweil - The Großweiler and Kleinweiler Prinzengarden opened the day with an impressive performance before a colorful procession wound its way through Großweil and Kleinweil, setting off an impressive parade with 35 car and foot groups as well as around 600 participants from the town and the communities of Ohlstadt, Sindelsdorf, Habach, Antdorf, Huglfing and Peißenberg presented.

A cloudy sky and occasional raindrops did nothing to dampen the good spirits of the approximately 8,000 carnival enthusiasts along the street.

The participants' creative motif floats and impressive costume creations thrilled the audience.

The time and effort invested and the attention to detail in the design of the floats and costumes was evident.

The atmosphere along the route was happy and exuberant, accompanied by a shower of confetti and candy and thunderous applause from the spectators.

Local and regional themes were dealt with in creative ways.

National politics and provocation?

None!

Instead, the audience experienced a mix of a living football table, the Großweiler mine, the invasion of the party planet and the “White Walkers” from Game of Thrones, to name just a few.

The local issues discussed were particularly amusing, such as the Loisach inn, the Schlehdorf boat huts and the lack of staff in the Ohlstadt kindergarten.

The audience honored the actors with applause and nods of approval while they enjoyed the elaborately designed contributions.

Another highlight of the day was the tractor with trailer, on which the humorous “Landjäger, Ratkäppchen and the evil Rolf with the seven dwarves” cavorted in the physical form of the district administrator and the corresponding mayors from the Blue Land.

A brilliant allusion to the wolf theme brought amused faces and broad grins to the audience.

To the surprise of many viewers, the sensational shooting of black Alpine pigs in an enclosure near Großweil was not discussed.

Various stands were set up along the entire route to provide for the physical well-being of the fools.

The occasional schnapps added to the exuberant atmosphere.

After the parade, the celebration continued in the festival tent in front of the “Gasthof zur Loisach”.

DJ Waggi from Großweil heated up the atmosphere, while live music from Rups Wagner and Werner Burger created a cozy atmosphere in the hall.

The carnival spectacle ended not only as a colorful event, but also as a perfectly organized event by the carnival committee under the direction of Burkhard Ziegltrum.

A truly successful carnival day full of creativity, humor, foolish charm and a touch of madness.
