Éric Ciotti, president of the party, Bruno Retailleau, leader of the LR senators, and Olivier Marleix, boss of the deputies, wanted to engage in the path of the shared initiative referendum (RIP) to continue the political fight around the immigration law, which ended in January with the censorship of a large part of the articles of the text by the Constitutional Council.
