Shots are fired in the community of Ranschbach.
The suspect flees - and is then arrested without resistance.
Ranschbach - A 37-year-old was seriously injured with a firearm in the community of Ranschbach (Südliche Weinstraße district) and died a short time later.
The suspect initially fled on foot on Monday before he was temporarily arrested near the crime scene, the police said.
The 27-year-old offered no resistance.
Shots were reported to the police on Monday afternoon and, according to initial findings, they were fired on a street in Ranschbach.
The police initially did not provide any information about the background and how the crime occurred.
According to the statement, there was no danger to the people on site.
The public prosecutor's office and the criminal police have therefore started the investigation.
