The band Modern Talking is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
Dieter Bohlen is going on a very special nostalgia tour for this occasion.
However, Thomas Anders will not be there.
Tötensen – Dieter Bohlen (70) and Thomas Anders (60) wrote German music history in the 1980s.
As the duo Modern Talking, they sold over 120 million records worldwide and regularly stormed the charts between 1984 and 2003 with hits such as "Brother Louie", "Cheri, Cheri Lady" and "You're My Heart, You're My Soul".
The group's 40th founding anniversary is coming up in 2024 and Dieter Bohlen will also honor that - but alone.
Dieter Bohlen on the Modern Talking tour: He will be giving tribute concerts from June
Dieter Bohlen is the pop titan who is known for his music beyond the borders of Germany.
Today he is on everyone's lips, especially as a juror on “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” and “Das Supertalent”, but he has not forgotten his beginnings with Modern Talking.
For the 40th anniversary of the duo, which Bohlen founded in 1984, he is going on a “Dieter Bohlen – 40 Years of Modern Talking – Open Air” tour.
He wants to bring the emotions of the 80s and 90s back into the present throughout Germany.
However, only half of the duo will be present.

Dieter Bohlen: Reunion excluded – no comeback with Thomas Anders
Dieter Bohlen wants to leave it at these tribute concerts for Modern Talking.
There should be no comeback in the form of new joint songs with Thomas Anders.
The musician now says to

: “I am totally grateful for this whole Modern Talking thing.
But there definitely won't be a comeback, not even for the 40th anniversary.” Dieter Bohlen is sure that it's the same way.

The reasons are not personal, but purely musical: “We live in completely different worlds.
He sings hits with Florian Silbereisen, I'm more into current hits and I'm on the DSDS and Supertalent jury." A reunion is therefore not on the plan.
The Serbian exorcist who predicted the future for Dieter Bohlen would not have seen that either.
