More fear than harm.
During the night from Saturday to Sunday, in Nantes, a 33-year-old man entered a nightclub in the Madeleine district, with a weapon slipped into his jacket.
“It was an alarm gun [Editor's note: deterrent weapon]
,” tempers a police source, confirming information from
Presse Océan
.
It was around 4:30 a.m. when the 30-year-old showed up, spontaneously announcing to the staff that he had a weapon:
“he alerted my locker room hostess, who alerted security and myself.
We then immediately notified the police
,” remembers Manuel Naulleau, director of the New Factory, the club where the scene took place.
A discreet arrest
The arrest around 5:30 a.m. was carried out very discreetly:
“we didn't want to alert everyone.
95% of the customers saw nothing
,” continues the manager, regarding the police intervention.
The individual, originally from Rwanda, was taken into police custody.
The manager plans to file a complaint.
He specifies that the situation was brought under control and that the individual would not have been able to enter anyway.
After the locker room, a security agent filters metal objects so that no one enters the track with a knife, for example.
