The Roland-Garros stadium will be the venue for two major events this year.
Obviously, the 2nd Grand Slam tournament of the season (after the Australian Open and before Wimbledon) but also the Paris Olympics.
Carlos Alcaraz, who is one of the favorites for these two tournaments, has already made his choice.
Questioned this Monday before the opening of his clay court season at the ATP tournament in Argentina, the 20-year-old Spaniard, world No. 2, said: “If I have to choose this year, I prefer to win Olympic gold rather than Roland-Garros.
» He will notably find on his route the Serbian Novak Djokovic, world No. 1, who is aiming for a first individual gold medal at the Olympic Games in Paris.

Winner at the US Open (2022) and Wimbledon (2023), Carlos Alcaraz will defend his crown in Buenos Aires.
“It was an incredible tournament for me and I wanted to come back this year,” he said, feeling good physically.
“My current level is very good.
I just played some good tennis in Australia, and the training days I had on clay were very good,” he said.
After being eliminated in the quarter-finals of the first Major of the season by the German Alexander Zverev, Alcaraz will make his debut in the second round, against the winner of the meeting between the Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas (85th in the world) and the Argentinian Camilo Ugo Carabelli (134th).
