Team sports tournaments at the 2024 Olympic Games are starting to take shape.
This weekend, the various Olympic qualifying tournaments for women's basketball confirmed the field of 12 nations which will participate in this event.
Already qualified as host country, France shone there, beating China, Puerto Rico and New Zealand, becoming one of the favorite teams in this tournament.
But who will they have to face to achieve their goal, the Grail, the gold medal?
These teams will have to wait a few weeks to find out, the draw not being scheduled until March 19, whether for the women's tournament or the men's tournament.
The football draws are scheduled for the next day.
The teams of Thierry Henry and Hervé Renard will then know their three opponents during the group stage, and will already be able to plan for this very important competition.
Netherlands and Germany for the hockey teams, Antoine Dupont waiting
In field hockey, no waiting, the draws have already been made.
For women, the Blues will face the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Japan and China in a group of six teams, four of which will advance to the quarter-finals.
In the men's category, the French will face the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Spain and South Africa.
In rugby sevens, handball and volleyball, the draws are not planned immediately.
Antoine Dupont's teammates will even have to wait until the end of June to find out all of the qualified nations since, for both men and women, a repechage tournament offering a last ticket for Paris 2024 is scheduled from 21 to 23 June.

For volleyball tournaments, five nations are still unknown by gender.
It is the world ranking (from June 17 for women and June 24 for men) which will determine the qualified teams.
Finally, in handball, the organizers are awaiting the results of the world Olympic qualifying tournaments (from March 14 to 17 for men and from April 8 to 14 for women) before carrying out the draw.
As in the five other team sports, the two French teams are automatically qualified as host country.
