TSV Unterhaching is well in the title race of the 2nd Bundesliga South, but there is apparently not enough money for promotion: a preliminary application for licensing has not been submitted.

Unterhaching

– TSV Unterhaching is doing well again in the fight for the championship of the 2nd Bundesliga South.

On the one hand, TSV coach Max Siebold's volleyball team won the home game against proWIN Volleys TV Holz 3:1 (25:18, 25:21, 16:25, 25:23).

On the other hand, leader Vilsbiburg II lost at the DJK Sportbund Munich-Ost.

This means that the Hachinger Hares can overtake the Vilsbiburgers again on their own.

Regardless of the performance, the Hachingers will probably be denied promotion to the single-track 2nd Bundesliga Pro.

Christoph Mayser, deputy head of the volleyball department and team manager of the women's team, announced after the home win that the TSV had not submitted a pre-licensing application for the higher division.

This would be the prerequisite for admission to the second highest German league.

They sat down with those responsible for the club and then discussed starting in the higher league.

According to Mayser, the decision was made against it because of the financial and organizational hurdles.

The home win against the Saarlanders was hard fought.

In the first two sets, service errors cost TSV a few points, but Haching still had the upper hand.

But that wasn't the case in the third round, where the guests dressed in light green left the field victorious against the Hachingers playing in dark green jerseys.

“Unfortunately we slowed down a bit,” complained Siebold.

From the fourth set onwards, the Hachingers got their foot on the accelerator again.

The TSV was able to rely particularly on their strong diagonal player Joana Hurler.

Compared to the third set, when Hurler had also weakened a little, the 25-year-old now turned things up again and scored numerous points.

“Those are highlight points from her.

If she has problems, the other players notice it too.

She then carried the others away again and the communication on the field was there again,” said Siebold about the turnaround in the game.

In the fourth set the game was very evenly balanced, but thanks to a strong final spurt from the home team, the Hachingers were able to bag a home win.

After TSV has played two fewer games than Vilsbiburg, the fourth-placed team can soon catch up with the leaders.
