Former US President Donald Trump faces fraud allegations.
His reaction: attacks on the Attorney General.
New York – It is just one of the lawsuits that the former US President is facing: There is a lawsuit against Donald Trump in New York for alleged fraud.
New York Attorney General Letitia James sued Trump and the family business named after him, the Trump Organization, for fraud in September 2022.
The Democrat's accusation: The company value is said to have been manipulated between 2011 and 2021.
Trump is said to have inflated his assets in order to get loans more cheaply.
James wants payments of almost $370 million and a lifetime ban for Trump from the New York real estate market.
The court found Trump guilty and the sentencing hearing ended on January 11th.
The judge in charge is aiming for a verdict by the end of the month.
Donald Trump: “That’s the crazy attorney general”
On Sunday, Trump slammed Letitia James on social media, calling her a "crazy" ahead of the final decision in his civil fraud lawsuit, Newsweek
reported
.
In a post on his own platform
Truth Social,
Trump took aim at the attorney general.
Trump shared a video of James making statements about Trump and the case.
James said in the clip, among other things: “I will never be afraid to challenge this illegitimate president.”

The former president, in his post, accused her of instigating the case against him, adding that she was a "lunatic."
He further accused her of collaborating with President Joe Biden and the Justice Department.
“This is the crazy attorney general charging me.
My lawyers say this should not be allowed under any circumstances.
She is working closely with the corrupt Joe Biden's Justice Department to harm his political opponent.
Election interference!” Trump escalated on
Truth Social
.
The 77-year-old was obviously not bothered by the fact that, contrary to Trump's statements, Biden and the Justice Department play no role in this case since it is purely a civil case.
Attorney General insulted - Donald Trump is abusive again
It's not the first time Trump has targeted James in connection with the case.
Last month, Trump said he believes James should be held "criminally liable" for bringing the case against his company.
He has also called them “racist”.
Trump repeatedly portrays himself as a victim of justice, and not just in this case. He described the fraud trial against him in New York as “election interference of the highest degree.”
Trump spoke to reporters of a “very unfair process.”
In the civil lawsuit, Trump and his sons Donald Junior and Eric are accused of artificially inflating the assets of the family real estate empire over the years in order to get better conditions for loans and insurance.
Closing arguments in the trial are scheduled to begin on Thursday.
