With the change of venue, this year's colorful evening for Tegernsee high school students was particularly challenging.

However, they not only put together a funny show, but also an emotional one: They said goodbye to headmaster Werner Oberholzner when he retired.

Rottach-Egern – This year around 80 students from all grades created the high school’s traditional colorful evening under the theme “Après Ski”.

For the first time in the decades-long history of the sketch and cabaret show, it took place not in the Ludwig Thoma Hall, but on two consecutive evenings in the Seeforum in Rottach-Egern.

But even in an unusual setting, with different technical equipment and a more modern ambience, the high school students delivered a brilliant, three and a half hour show comprising 40 pieces in two “runs”.

Under the artistic direction of Marie Wöhlermann, Basti Eckerl and Vincent Erlacher, the young comedians not only humorously devoted themselves to their teachers and their pedagogical peculiarities, but also current political issues from the region were the subject of their mockery: the planned town hall in Rottach-Egern A futuristic tower was quickly added.

Given the many train delays, the Bavarian Regiobahn was advised to consult Jim Knopf and Lukas, the locomotive driver.

They counteracted the farmers' protests with the planned traffic disruptions: thanks to the farmers and their cars, it was finally possible to get through where traffic would otherwise be backed up around the lake.

LED torchlight parade for outgoing director

The tone of the jokes varied between funny, witty, absurd, gauche, crazy and even conciliatory and nostalgic.

This was especially true when the students took the opportunity to say a fitting farewell to their headmaster Werner “Obi” Oberholzner and math teacher Elisabeth Hartwig.

Both long-time teachers are retiring at the end of the current school year.

They were both seen off one evening in their original uniforms, with a big tattoo including a standing concert - the students borrowed the instruments for this from the marching band - and an (LED) torchlight procession through the Seeforum.

Musically, they rained red roses for them.

Both Oberholzner and Hartwig had moist eyes – a very emotional affair.

The headmaster was visibly moved.

Moving to the Seeforum: All challenges overcome

Even if some visitors mourned the charm of the Ludwig Thoma Hall, which has to remain closed until further notice for fire safety reasons (we reported), some numbers and especially the big tattoo with torchlight procession could only be performed in a new location.

Taking on the challenge of a new venue, which was also not available for rehearsals, so that an alternative had to be found, was the real achievement of this year's Bunter-Abend-Crew.

The spectators acknowledged the fact that the high school students continued the popular tradition and did not cancel it again like in the pandemic with frenetic applause.

The 80 actors and participants around the organizing team with Charlotte Ruppert, Anna Sperber and Anna Schneider were justifiably allowed to celebrate themselves.
