“St.

Wolfgang is upside down,” it was said again yesterday on Carnival Sunday.

This year, the carnival was really a bit upside down: instead of the usual at the Hofmark, the people of St. Wolfgang celebrated in the Goldachhalle.

Because it was raining, the colorful hustle and bustle was quickly moved to a warm and dry place.

St. Wolfgang - The carnival fans didn't let the bad weather spoil their mood - they came dressed as princesses and witches, knights and cowboys as well as unicorns and ladybugs, and were thus a colorful balance to the gray sky.

The St. Wolfgang Music Association escorted the prince couples through the rain for a short distance.

Young farmers were there on their small tractors, demanding more sweets instead of arguments.

There were also plenty of them from the foot groups that followed the brass band into the Goldachhalle.

The royal couple did not have to set foot on the wet ground themselves, as their highnesses were carried by the mariachi group from the Woifganger Shotguns Association.

Once on stage, the music club presented party hits, supported by the brass orchestra from Silesia.

The people of St. Wolfgang slipped into imaginative roles on this colorful afternoon.

Everywhere you looked you saw unusual disguises such as a pack of gummy bears.

Animal costumes were probably in vogue, as bumblebees and butterflies, donkeys and frogs as well as sloths populated the Goldachhalle.

Even the little ones came in costumes, their costumes could be admired especially at the children's disco when all the young guests stormed the stage.

There was also a lot of dancing on offer, as in addition to the prince couples, the guards and various dance groups from the Juliane Zdera ballet school also performed.

These shone with unusual choreographies and lifting figures.

The prince couple Princess Laura II with the oppressive bandage from the beautiful Isental, and Prince Thomas II the energetic from the Nudel-Pumerei with a glamorous ball gown and chic suit as well as the young prince couple Princess Simone I of Hochfelln and Prince Thomas III offered an almost magical sight .

from the Wolfgang gallery.

Carnival department head Anton Schimmer from TSV St. Wolfgang was happy about a successful carnival and a well-filled Goldachhalle at the highlight of this “compact carnival season”.

In the few weeks there were sometimes several events at the same time, but he was also confident about the highlight of the season: “The hall will be booming.”

At least until it had to be evacuated for a volleyball game in the evening.

Mayor Ullrich Gaigl was also satisfied: “It's always tiring, but also always nice.” This year, too, there was “a lot to go out and dance about.”

As with many events at the crazy time, the TSV took care of the supporting program at the carnival, which was financially supported by Sparkasse and Raiffeisenbank.

The Wolfgang local associations provided the food: KLJB, rural women, fire department, music club and CSU had food and drinks as well as coffee and cake on offer.

And there was hard liquor at the boys' bar.
