After the two unscheduled meetings that Javier Milei held this Sunday with Pope Francis within the framework of the canonization ceremony of Mama Antula in the Vatican, the President and the Supreme Pontiff will meet again on Monday morning.
It will be a private audience where they will address different topics linked to the country and after which the Argentine president will give them some gifts.
What will those gifts be?
The precision came through a message published by Manuel Adorni, the presidential spokesperson, on the social network X, formerly Twitter.
There, the official detailed, in text and photos, the three presents that Milei will leave for Pope Francis.
First of all, Adorni indicated, he will give him a “folder with a copy of the handwritten letter from Chancellor José María Gutiérrez to Juan Bautista Alberdi accrediting him as representative in Europe (May 1854).”
Another of the objects with historical value that Milei will leave in the hands of the Pope is “a painting with the commemorative postcard of Mama Antula that the Argentine Postal Service distributed on the occasion of her beatification (August 2017).”
Finally, they will try to please you with products linked to Argentine customs.
“Dulce de leche alfajores and lemon cookies (from the Supreme Pontiff's preferred brand),” Adorni's text clarified.
The meeting between the two will take place this Monday at 9 in the morning in Rome (5 in Argentina).
The Pontiff will receive Milei and then greet the delegation that also includes the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and Foreign Minister Diana Mondino, who were in Israel, the first destination of the presidential tour.
