Karen Webb hasn't eaten sugar for 13 years.
The reason for this is a chronic illness from which the presenter has been suffering for a long time.
Munich – “All my values are good,” says Karen Webb (52) recently in a new interview with “Bunte”.
The presenter has been working for ZDF for more than twenty years, where she gained fame as the host of the lifestyle format “People Today”.
After the show was canceled last year, Webb took a longer break to focus more on her health.
As she further reveals in an interview with the magazine, the TV journalist suffers from a chronic illness that has had a lasting impact on her everyday life for several years.
A healthy lifestyle helps Karen Webb manage her chronic illness
Karen Webb has been avoiding sugary foods for over 13 years, as she reveals in the “Bunte” interview.
Her healthy lifestyle seems to be paying off for the presenter.
“Fortunately, I have no problems, although I have been suffering from a chronic illness for eight years: urticaria, also known as hives,” she says.
Symptoms of the disease include red spots and pustules on the skin, which can cause severe itching.
“For me, they are caused by pressure on the skin, for example from ski boots or tight belts,” says Webb about her symptoms.

However, healthy eating and stress reduction are not enough to completely free Karen Webb from her suffering.
The ZDF star also receives an injection once a month, because otherwise “the itching would be difficult to bear.”
Webb tolerates the medication well.
“Luckily I don’t have any side effects,” she explains with relief.
The end of “People Today” a few months ago also gave her the chance to devote herself completely to her health over a longer period of time.

Webb therefore took an extensive treatment at Altaussee in Austria.
“I just wanted to do something good for my body: detox, lots of sleep and the wonderful nature at Altaussee in the Salzkammergut,” she enthuses about her time there.
By the way, Karen Webb isn't worried about her future on television, as she made clear in an interview with "Bild" a long time ago: "When one door closes, another opens again."
