After meeting with former president Mauricio Macri in the Cumelén country of Villa La Angostura, the former Buenos Aires Minister of Education, Soledad Acuña, stated that the PRO leader
"does not lead President Milei, nor does he co-govern."
She said this amid reports of a possible merger between the party founded by Macri and the President's libertarian force in Congress.
"Today the PRO does not govern nor is it inside La Libertad Avanza nor does it pretend to be inside. Today we have to work on the reconfiguration of the party from the leadership.
Mauricio advises the President, but today we are not co-governing
," stressed Acuña, who is far from the former head of the Buenos Aires Government Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and wants to work within the party.
In dialogue with La Red radio, the former City official reiterated: "The PRO is not in the Government today, what we have to discuss is how we are going to accompany. That discussion is the one that Mauricio is leading today."
"There is a government that won and is represented by Javier Milei.
La Libertad Avanza is governing.
We are a political space with many ideological coincidences, a party that wants to accompany the reforms and in parallel is Mauricio's relationship with the current president who listens to him. Mauricio does not lead the President or co-govern, he tries to help," he emphasized.
