We are on the right track but we must continue.
It is not because a stage is positive that we will win the race at the end of the event.
We are obtaining a lot of results, particularly in the fight against drug trafficking, which is our priority.
And for which we put a lot of resources.
With actions on deal points in the urban area, in Vaulx-en-Velin, Vénissieux, Villeurbanne, etc.
In 2023, 1,500 traffickers were arrested in the department, or 15% more than the previous year.
This shows that we are taking action.
We dismantled 26 deal points.
Dismantled because we make sure they don't come back, even if it's never won.
We do a lot of harassment, shelling with 800 dismantling operations.
3.8 tonnes of cannabis were recovered, an increase of 43% compared to the previous year, as well as 64.5 kilos of cocaine, 57 kilos of heroin and 15,000 sachets of ecstasy.
In addition, 2.2 million criminal assets in cash or property were seized.
What do you qualify as a deal point?
We talk about a deal point when there is a settling down, a habit of places with a whole merry-go-round of customers, lookouts, and sometimes even the prices displayed inside the building.

We are aware that by doing this, we are agitating.

When we act on traffickers, others can take advantage of it to try to take control.
We knew it before doing it, but that’s not why we’re not going to do it.
We need to measure the risks and be present to prevent shots like we had.
Trafficking will continue given the money at stake. The key is to ensure that it decreases and catch it at birth.

Does La Guillotière remain a black spot for public peace in Lyon?
There is still a lot of work to do, but it has still positively changed Guillotière.

It is increasing in sexual violence (+20%) and against women (+6.5% in intra-family violence).
It is also linked to the liberation of speech.

In transport, the trend is towards improvement, to what do you attribute it?
Violence against people in transport has fallen by another 28%.
This was already the case at the end of the previous year.
We work very well with the Sytral and the railway police.
It's presence, action, network, organization and surveillance cameras.
In the station as well as in the trains, it works very well.
In the metro, there is also more presence at the stations.
After Paris, we have the busiest network with 1.7 million travelers every day.
La Part-Dieu is the busiest passenger station in France, outside the capital.
And we benefit from the surveillance center with the transfer of images from surveillance cameras.
