“Koh-Lanta”

could suffer from the rheumatism of a tired old man but the TF1 program has, on the contrary, the vigor and determination of a dynamic young man.

Where other formats wear out, tire and disappear, the adventure game produced by ALP remains an expected event for the public.

Programming which has increased over time the consumption of replay episodes.

Denis Brogniart

Filmed last year in the Philippines,

“Koh-Lanta, the immunity hunters”

is the 30th edition produced and the 28th broadcast on TF1 after the cancellation of two seasons in 2013 (death of a participant on the set) and 2018 (alleged sexual assault of a candidate).

The principle of “Koh-Lanta, the immunity hunters”

Like Robinson Crusoe, the candidates are released like castaways in a deserted geographical area and must live with a minimum, making do with what nature offers them.

Building a shelter, searching for food on land and in the sea, detecting the source of drinking water supplied by the production and making a fire occupy their daily lives.

In the Philippines, 20 adventurers aged 21 to 55, as many men as women, were divided into two mixed teams at the start of the game: on one side the Yellows, the Kadasi and, on the other, the Reds , the Matukads.

Deposited in the middle of the jungle to the east of the island of Luzon after a truck ride, they sailed on the Manapo River to the sea where Denis Brogniart was waiting for them for a first test of comfort.

The recurring events of “Koh-Lanta”

The first half of the 40 days of adventure is played as a team.

In cycles of three days, the two tribes will first oppose each other in a

comfort test

, the winner of which benefits from a gain improving daily life (tools, food, an excursion, a night at the hotel, etc.). .).

Then in

an immunity test

where the winner is protected from elimination.

The team that loses the immunity test must go to the council and the candidate receiving the most votes against them is eliminated.

The second half of the adventure becomes individual: the adventurers still in competition come together in one and the same camp.

Prior to this reunification, an ambassador from each team is designated for a face-to-face meeting leading to the arbitrary elimination of a candidate.

From then on, the benefits of comfort and immunity tests no longer accrue to a team but to the single candidate who wins.

At the council, the latter is immune and the one who receives the most votes against him is eliminated.

Note that certain “sudden death” events can be synonymous with elimination for the person who finishes in last position.

Advice from “Koh-Lanta”

Every three days, Denis Brogniart receives the team which lost the immunity test.

Each candidate present must vote by secret ballot against the one he or she wishes to eliminate.

In the event of a tie, a second round of voting is organized and, if the tie is confirmed, the targeted adventurers are decided by a draw.

After the reunification of the tribes, the facilitator systematically receives all the candidates still in play.

The particularities of “Koh-Lanta, the immunity hunters”

“This season, there will be many more immunity necklaces

,” explains Denis Brogniart.

Necklaces with different powers and, for some, new powers.

On certain events, clues will be found to help their holders unearth the famous necklaces.

In addition to the comfort and immunity tests, the destiny of adventurers rests on a constant quest for immunity necklaces, the number of which, the diversity of locations and the effects are, for this edition, accentuated.

“In “Koh-Lanta”, you have to do everything to avoid being kicked out of the adventure.

There are several ways, such as winning events or finding immunity necklaces

, explains Julien Magne, the new general director of ALP.

This season, there are many more necklaces, hidden everywhere, endowed with new and very powerful powers to shake up alliances and strategies.

The adventurers were also surprised to complete a special test in the form of

“a Dantesque trek in the rain”

in the middle of the night in the tropical forest.

How does “Koh-Lanta, the immunity hunters” end?

Of the 20 candidates at the start of the adventure, only one remains at the end.

Every three days, an adventurer is eliminated at the council.

The last four or five castaways compete in

the orientation test

where three daggers hidden in nature in a defined area are to be found.

The three qualifiers face each other in the final

pole event

where the one who stays standing on their pole the longest is qualified for the final.

The latter chooses, from among the two losers of the event, his opponent.

The two finalists appear before the final jury made up of candidates eliminated since reunification.

After a few exchanges and a plea from the two contenders for victory, each member of the final jury votes by secret ballot for the candidate they want to see win the 100,000 euros from “Koh-Lanta”.

The ballots are placed in a ballot box which is sealed and opened by Denis Brogniart on the evening of the last live broadcast on TF1.
