“The account is not there. »
As part of the call for the SNCF strike planned for this weekend in France,
Pascal Praud
gave the floor, this Tuesday, February 13, to an
SNCF
controller based in Paris.
The latter, whose name was Martin, first explained the reasons for the announced movement before reminding the radio host that the controllers are essential to the running of the train.
A truth that Pascal Praud does not question but which prompts a question.

“Today, so we understand, how much do you earn annually?”
, asks the host of Europe 1. If the person concerned starts his response with a somewhat convoluted justification by asserting that the operation is
“very particular”
, he is very quickly stopped by Pascal Praud.
“If you want, how much did you declare in 2023?”
, he simplifies.
Martin then responds straight away:
“38,000 euros”
.

Faced with this confidence and this response, Pascal Praud is surprised:
“38,000 euros?
At 23?
»
.
The striker does not budge and affirms that of this amount
“only 24,000 euros of retirement contributions”
.
“I would like you to talk to me about retirement, you are 23 years old.
And it seems that no one will have any.
Well, so you earn 38,000 euros at 23 years old, I didn't even think that we earned so well at the SNCF.
I’m even surprised
,” he can’t help but notice.
“It pays for the job”
The SNCF controller justifies himself once again by specifying that his remuneration is based on a bonus system.
“But I find it very good because it’s a good salary and I’m happy for you
,” congratulates Pascal Praud before questioning his interlocutor about his level of studies.
“I have a BAC+2
,” reveals Martin.
“Say whose, then you are indeed brave.”
I imagine that the schedules change, it’s not necessarily easy but it pays for the job
,” tempers the presenter who also works on CNews.
But nothing happens, the guest of the show sticks to his positions by specifying that by taking his basic treatment,
“it costs €1900”
.
This is the last straw for Pascal Praud.
“But it’s true for a salesperson!
There are lots of salespeople who are listening to us.
There is a basic salary, and then you work on commission.
It’s not embarrassing
,” he declares before delivering the final blow:
“because if we gave you the €38,000, you probably wouldn’t do what we’re asking you to do with bonuses. , so you know well
. ”
