Scenes of jealousy, aggressive behavior, desire for control, complete with geolocation in the absence of the boyfriend and access to the partner's social networks.

To the point of insults, even in public, and actual physical violence.

Even among the new generations, "toxic loves" are more widespread than one might imagine.

In fact, approximately 1 in 7 girls, among those who are currently involved in a romantic relationship, say they have been the subject of one of these degenerations at the hands of their current partner at least once.

And for almost 1 in 10 this happens with some frequency.

This worrying picture is outlined by a survey by Skuola.net conducted on the occasion of Valentine's Day

, with the participation of 2,500 young "girlfriends" between 11 and 25 years old.

The aberrant catalog of deviant manifestations is, unfortunately, rich and varied.

Going to embrace a wide spectrum of distortions.

One in 4 girls has to witness frequent outbursts from her "him", due to uncontrollable jealousy.

It's even worse for the 13% who have had to deal, one or more times, with serious offenses.

For 15%, however, it happened that the boyfriend flew into a rage simply because of the way he dressed, considered too provocative.

And a non-negligible 7% were even required to wear a specific, more modest type of clothing as a condition for leaving the house.

And then there are cases of actual violence.

5% of the interviewees - therefore 1 in 20 - said they had been the target of a slap, a punch or a kick, given by their partner with the intent to cause harm.

While 7% say they had to have sexual intercourse for fear of their partner's reaction.

The survey also reveals that just 22% interpreted an obsessive manifestation of which they were subjected as a possible alarm bell, alongside a small 19% who did not forgive an act of serious violence.

All the other victims carried on almost as if nothing had happened.

Furthermore, when these events happen, not all of them talk: only 7 out of 10 confided in others.

Furthermore, almost never with the people who could best help them: 48% opened up especially with their friends, only 1 in 10 with their parents or experts.
