Forecasts of the 100-year calendar should be treated with the greatest caution.
If you believe the calendar, then spring will bring changeable weather.
Kassel – Winter is actually not over yet.
But for long stretches, the actually cold season left a lot behind.
The month of February in particular has a much more spring-like feel to it than a wintry one.
At least February partially corresponds to forecasts of the 100-year calendar, as it was quite cloudy and rainy at the beginning of the month.
But snow predicted by the old farmers' calendar and falling temperatures are unlikely to be expected this month.
But perhaps the 100-year-old calendar can correctly predict the weather in the approaching spring.
If you believe the non-scientifically based calendar, it could definitely be wintery again, at least in the months of March, April and May.

For the winter of 2023/24, the 100-year calendar was seriously wrong with its forecast.
Maybe winter will only show up late this year.
According to the farmers' calendar, spring could be quite uncomfortable.
It is likely to be really cold, especially in the first three weeks of March.
It is only at the beginning of the so-called solar year at the end of March that better weather is announced.

March 1st to 20th: Cold and unpleasant weather.
March 22nd and 23rd: Very cold.
January 25th to 31st: Frost in the morning, but warmer during the day.

Centennial Calendar Spring Forecast: Typical April weather in April
According to the 100-year calendar, typical April weather is on the way in April.
Rain and cold alternate with relatively high temperatures and sunny weather.

April 1st to 3rd: Cold start to the month.
April 4th: Sunny and warm.
April 8th: Windy, with downpours.
April 9th to 11th: Beautiful and warm days.
April 18: Rain and thunderstorms
April 19th to 22nd: Fine weather, occasional thunderstorms.
April 23rd to 30th: Cloudy and cold weather.

The Centennial Calendar – Folklore or Science?
The centenary calendar goes back to weather observations by Abbot Moritz Knauer in the 17th century.
He based his forecasts on the supposed influence of the five planets known at the time, as well as the sun and the moon, on the weather.
According to Knauer, the weather conditions would repeat themselves in a seven-year cycle.
The doctor Christoph von Hellwig continued Knauer's calendar and helped him achieve a breakthrough.
However, the farmers' calendar is not based on scientific findings and, according to the German Weather Service (DWD), is partly based on erroneous assumptions.
Predictions from the farmers' calendar could certainly sometimes be correct.
“From a meteorological point of view, such coincidences are purely coincidental and in no way scientifically justified,” writes the DWD.

100-year calendar predicts mixed May
According to the hundred-year calendar, May begins as April ends.
The first half of the month will therefore be “very mixed”.
After all, it is supposed to be quite warm most of the time.
At the end of the month it will be a little colder again, similar to April, according to the farmers' calendar forecast.
The detailed forecast for May 2024:
May 1st and 2nd: Very windy and cold weather.
May 4th to 15th: A little warmer, but still changeable with rain and isolated thunderstorms.
May 24th: Frosty cold morning.
May 27th: Very nice weather.
May 28th to 30th: Frosty and cold, rain also possible.

According to the centennial calendar, June 2024 will be very changeable
Meteorologically, summer begins on June 1st.
But astronomically speaking, spring does not turn into summer until June 21st.
According to the forecast of the 100-year calendar, the weather does not differentiate depending on the season.
The whole of June fits in with the previous months: there is no sign of consistent spring or summer weather.
Instead, sun and rain alternate throughout the month.
According to the centennial calendar forecast, spring 2024 is likely to be very changeable.

June 2nd: Nice weather
June 3rd: Heavy rain.
June 4th to 8th: The changeable start is followed by rough days.
June 9th: Nice and warm.

June 20th: Very cold in the morning.

The reliability of the centenary calendar leaves something to be desired, for example with regard to the month of February, when winter should actually have returned.
This is primarily because the calendar does not make predictions based on meteorological data (see infobox).
