Spring-like weather and happy visitors from all over the region ensured a great atmosphere at the Benediktbeuren carnival procession on Shrove Tuesday.
Benediktbeuern – The Maschkera took aim at numerous topics, and the creativity of the foot groups also knew no limits.
The depiction of shooting the traffic light government's politicians at the moon caused a stir.
The spectators were allowed to spin a wheel of fortune, which stopped at either Olaf Scholz, Robert Habeck or Christian Lindner.
The chosen one then climbed into an ejector seat, which rose up and threw the politician onto a haystack, next to which two astronauts stood.
“We've been working on this since August,” one of the participants shouted to the applauding audience.
Another group was firmly convinced that the traffic light policy was taking us back to the Stone Age - many Neanderthals made this clear.
Politicians sat enthroned on a “rock” and arrogantly threw coins to the people.

The fact that cycle paths are being built in Peru with German tax money was also a grateful topic for the Mashkera.
“Wuist you fat calves, ride through Peru on a bike,” was the message on the car, which showed the best bike paths and was filled with feel-good music.
Numerous enthusiastic Peruvians followed suit.
Months of route closure: criticism of Deutsche Bahn
Similar to Bichl, the months-long closure of the Kochelsee Railway was also targeted in Benediktbeuern.
Deutsche Bahn received a lot of criticism for the fact that the train only ran during the Oktoberfest season, but otherwise did not attach any importance to school transport.

This Swiss researcher was on the trail of the new ibex's remains on the Benediktenwand.

Another group showed how difficult it is for the new female ibexes from Switzerland on the Benedictine Wall and caused enthusiastic laughter.
A researcher followed the animals to examine details using the “Köttli” structure.
But there was a group that had to be taken very seriously and gave the Bichler “Wagnerei” a nice souvenir.
The restaurant is closing after 40 years.

This year it was about a possible divorce of the administrative community (VG).
Some “Bichler” men “pulled” a wagon and kept stopping to sing a Gstanzl to the cheers of the visitors, which said, among other things: “We look so sad because we have the Beira.
It's a tough lot when you're connected, because only freedom is paradise." On the car there was a statue of Liberty in reference to the mayor of Bichler, underneath it read: "First free municipality of Biche 2025".

The police announced that evening that around 5,000 visitors came to the train.
