After a four-year break, yesterday afternoon Böbing's offspring of maskers once again formed a considerably large children's carnival procession through the town.

On the left and right of the streets, visitors enthusiastically waved to the little Mashkera.

Böbing

– “Today the focus is on children,” said Böbing’s mayor Peter Erhard.

This is the right carnival upswing for the village and at the same time the right final spurt on Shrove Tuesday.

By the way: Everything from the region is also available in our regular Schongau newsletter.

And in our Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter.

Robert Klinger was the organizer of the children's carnival procession, which made its way from the Haslacher inn to the church square and back to the starting point.

Klinger said he was happy about the great support in the village.

Twelve groups included

There were a total of twelve groups that marched through Böbing yesterday afternoon.

And they were very colorfully costumed.

But these were also the parents of their offspring, all of whom also accompanied their little Mashkera in masks.

These “Schnalzberg witches” were also a feast for the eyes in the Böbinger children’s carnival parade.

For example, there were the girls from the Böbing Children's Guard with their carers Dorothe Feeß and Babsi Pszewocki, who provided a splash of color with their red skirts.

Maria Barfüsser, however, was thrilled that “so many people in the village are taking part in this event.”

Gummy bears for spectators on the side of the road

The little helpers around Jonatan Bierling are happy that they were able to “hurl” gummy bears into the rows of visitors with their “catapult”.

Meanwhile, the Böbinger gymnastics dwarves and their supervisors Katharina Wurm and Vroni Kreutterer were also in a good mood.

The gymnast gnomes and mice received great enthusiasm with their “duck dance” on the church square.

As in all previous years, the musical accompaniment of the children's carnival procession was provided by the Böbinger Musikkapelle with its conductor Toni Wurm.

They played the song “The Hands to Heaven” at the beginning of the march to the church square, and the march participants, but also the spectators on the side of the road, complied with the request.

Fire brigade ensures safety

It was also the masked Böbinger musicians who provided musical accompaniment to the lively carnival hustle and bustle in the Haslacher inn after the fun carnival parade through the town and on the church square.

And they created a great atmosphere.

The local newspapers in the Weilheim-Schongau district are represented on Instagram under “merkur_wm_sog”.

Böbing's second mayor, Johann Erhard, was very happy “that we have so many carnival crazy people in the village”.

Incidentally, the Böbinger fire brigade with its first commander Peter Erhard ensured safety on the village street throughout the afternoon.
