The decree promoting the creation of innovative agrivoltaic systems of an experimental nature has been published on the website of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Safety.

The objective of the measure, which will come into force starting from February 14, is the construction of at least 1.04 gigawatts of new plants, in which the production of clean energy can coexist with agricultural activity.

The measure provides for the disbursement of a non-repayable contribution, financed by the Pnrr, to the maximum extent of 40% of the eligible costs, combined with an incentive tariff based on the share of net electricity injected into the grid.

"With this decree - explains Minister Gilberto Pichetto - we add another piece to our energy strategy, enhancing in this case the great potential of the agricultural sector involved in the transition. The double incentive track that we have prepared, in constructive contact with the Commission - concludes the Minister - it can be a great opportunity to decarbonise, improving the profitability of the soil: in short, a way to bring together the affirmation of Italian agricultural quality, unique in the world, with the drive towards climate objectives".

Within the next fifteen days, as envisaged by the provision, the operational rules which will govern the methods and timing of recognition of the incentives will be approved by the Ministry, upon proposal of the Energy Services Manager.

The GSE, the entity managing the measure, will issue a first public notice for the submission of requests within thirty days of the approval of the rules.
