Bad timing.
Parisians, the first vacationers in zone C, have little choice but to be patient.
Above all, they must pray that a third landslide does not once again hinder their ascent to the ski resorts of the Alpes-Maritimes.
And for good reason, two landslides took place on Monday on the RM 2205 and the M6202, two axes linking the stations of Isola 2000 and Auron.
The first in the middle of the night, around 4:00 a.m., three kilometers south of the village of Isola.
Significant tree and rock falls blocked the mainland road from side to side.
Miraculously, there were no injuries.
At midday, after the arrival of a geologist and the carrying out of emergency work, the metropolis announced that the road could reopen at the end of the afternoon
“under alternating traffic lights.”
But that was without counting on a new rock fall around 7 p.m., very close to the Tinée station, in La Mescla, on the M6202.
Two vehicles were damaged this time, without causing any casualties.
Pieces of rock also ended their journey
“on the Provence railway rails and on the metropolitan road 6202 bis”
, according to the firefighters.
Automobile and rail traffic was immediately interrupted
“in order to continue reconnaissance
,” they specify.

Disrupted traffic
While waiting for the arrival of a geologist and while
“three to four tons of materials have been cleared by the Subdivision”
, according to the Nice Metropolis, traffic is organized as follows: in the North-South direction. , the Mescla tunnel is open on a single lane;
in the South-North direction, for Digne: follow Gilette, Col Saint-Raphaël, Puget-Théniers and for Tinée: follow RM2565, col Saint Martin.
Traffic on the Pignes train, which passes through Tinée station, remains disrupted between Annot and Plan du Var.
According to
BFM Nice Côte d'Azur
, a return to normal is hoped for by the weekend.
Until then, it is planned to put substitute buses into service for travelers.
Near Isola, at the location of the first landslide, alternating traffic is open from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., then from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., and finally from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This while waiting for a return to normal which could only take place in a few days.
