The events occurred around 2 a.m.: according to the police, the car refused to stop, first on the Paris ring road, then in Créteil where police officers had set up a roadblock to check the vehicle.

Arriving at this roadblock, the car, an Audi RS3, swerved towards the police officers, again according to the version reported by the police: one of the officers, hit in the leg, then fired in the direction of the vehicle, which stopped 150 meters away.
