Munich Airport will have a new long-haul destination on its departure board from next autumn - direct flights to Vietnam will then be handled a total of three times a week.
Munich Airport – The new long-haul destination in Munich will be served from October 2024: Vietnam.
As the industry portal
aerotelegraph
reports, Vietnam's national airline wants to set up a second location in Germany after Frankfurt.
There will then be a total of three connections per week from Erding to Asia - as the marketing director of Vietnam Airlines, Pham Thi Nguyet, revealed at an event in Frankfurt last week.
The offer in Frankfurt is also to be increased.
Munich Airport: New long-haul connection probably on the agenda from autumn
A connection between Bavaria and Vietnam should be established as early as summer 2020.
According to the portal, a media-effective agreement of intent was supposed to be the starting signal.
However, there has been no flying since then.
It is said that aviation circles say that approval for the flights has already been granted.
Vietnam Airlines also wants to increase the frequencies of the existing Frankfurt connection from 12 to 14 flights per week.
Germany is one of the five most important international markets for the Asian country.
The courts in Germany were overwhelmed with hundreds of thousands of lawsuits last year. The reason for this is said to be online portals with which passengers can easily enforce their claims.
