When it comes to the benefits of the Erding energy vision, the municipalities remain divided.

Ottenhofen/Buch am Buchrain – The Energievision Landkreis Erding Projektentwicklungs (EVE) GmbH is a company owned by the district and the municipalities that is intended to advance renewable energies.

But things aren't going so well for EVE at the moment.

The communities are divided about what the EVE will bring them.

As reported, the first municipalities left the energy vision last year.

Buch am Buchrain is now also one of the dropouts.

Ottenhofen, on the other hand, wants to continue to show solidarity.

Criticism from the member communities of the energy vision is growing.

After Buch had already rejected the cooperation with the Energieallianz Bayern (EAB) in December, the local council unanimously made the decision to withdraw from the EVE after a short debate.

The benefits of membership were already discussed in the committee in previous discussions on EAB cooperation.

Now Mayor Ferdinand Geisberger (CSU) spoke again about the fact that the EVE would probably not be able to implement any projects independently.

In his opinion, the local council had already clearly questioned membership by saying no to EAB cooperation.

Conversations with his deputy Josef Auer (WG) confirmed the doubts.

Auer said that during Buch's several years of membership, "there was not a single project where the EVE could help us."

The community itself has implemented projects such as photovoltaics on the kindergarten roof or a solar system in communal housing.

“I am therefore asking myself what added value the energy vision still offers us, and I am definitely in favor of drawing a line in the sand now,” said the second mayor.

“I can only sign that,” agreed Matthias Steutzger (independent).

Everything had already been said in the committee.

The subsequent first positive local council decision that Buch would remain in the EVE failed by a score of 0:12.

There was a unanimous majority in the vote that they wanted to leave as soon as possible.

The decision was different in Ottenhofen.

Mayor Nicole Schley (SPD) initially said that there were no opportunities for wind power on the municipality's land and that there were no buildings belonging to the district on which photovoltaic systems could be implemented.

It was decided to join at the time, but she could no longer give the reasons for it: “The question now is: Do we want to stay with it and show solidarity with it?”

There were voices from the committee that it made no sense to stay on board if nothing could be planned on community land.

But the energy transition also requires a clear commitment, and solidarity is important, even if you don't have any options yourself.

Renate Bertram (SPD) wanted to know whether the community only incurs costs when it participates in something.

Administrative manager Andrea Knauer said that the municipality would still be a member in 2024 because they had not terminated their membership.

An exit is therefore only possible in 2025.

Stefan Gentschew (Greens) made it clear that remaining in the EVE should be understood as a political statement: “We should continue to stand behind the energy transition and not further weaken this organization by leaving.” The broad decision was made that the community Ottenhofen remains a member of the EVE for now.
