Highlights: Former minister Julien Denormandie ruled out this Tuesday taking the lead in the Renaissance list for the European elections. “No, that’s not current at all. This is not a question on the table today,” he said. The National Rally is still at the top of voting intentions with 10 points ahead of the presidential majority, regardless of the head of the list tested, according to an Ifop poll published this Monday. The list led by Jordan Bardella received between 28 and 29% of voting intention, down slightly.

The former Minister of Cities and Housing and then Agriculture also affirmed that he would not have refused the post of Prime Minister

He had once been tipped to become Prime Minister, he will not represent the majority in the European elections either.

Former minister Julien Denormandie ruled out this Tuesday taking the lead in the Renaissance list for the European elections, while the presidential camp has still not designated its leader.

“No, that’s not current at all.

This is not a question on the table today,” reaffirmed Julien Denormandie on Sud Radio.

“Today I have other commitments, for the benefit of the climate in an entrepreneurial project (…) I am very happy with these new commitments.

I think we can serve the general interest in other ways than just politics,” explained this early support from Emmanuel Macron, whose name circulated this winter for Matignon.

The former Minister of Cities and Housing and then Agriculture, who has many supporters in the presidential majority, publishes an essay with academician Erik Orsenna, “Nourishing without devastating.

A brief summary of globalization” (Flammarion).

Matignon does not “refuse”

Prime Minister, “this is one of the functions that cannot be refused, I believe it very sincerely,” he said.

After the appointment of Gabriel Attal to Matignon at the beginning of January and a reshuffle sequence which lasted a month, the Macron camp must still designate its head of list for the European elections in June, and the majority is suspended on the president's decision.

To lead the Renaissance list, several names are circulating, including that of MEP Valérie Hayer, who succeeded Stéphane Séjourné as president of the Renew (Renaissance) group in the European Parliament.

Four months before the election, the National Rally is still at the top of voting intentions with 10 points ahead of the presidential majority, regardless of the head of the list tested, according to an Ifop poll published this Monday.
