On Valentine's Day it is still common practice to give something to your loved ones.
Flowers, jewelry and sweets are particularly popular.
Also in Bavaria.
Munich – Everyone can think what they want about Valentine’s Day.
Romantic people are happy to spend the day with their partner, singles or those who don't like romance could probably do without celebrating the day of love.
Nevertheless, it seems common for many to give something to their loved ones on February 14th.
A survey commissioned by Zalando shows what people in Bavaria like to give as gifts, how much money they spend on them on average and how they usually spend the day.
For Valentine's Day: Bavarians prefer to give flowers
For the survey, 2,000 people across Germany were interviewed, including people from Bavaria.
The results show: Bavarians prefer to give away flowers (54.5 percent), a visit to a restaurant or bar (27.2 percent) and sweets (22.7 percent).
Flowers are particularly popular in the Freyung-Grafenau district.
86.2 percent of respondents there said they would give a bouquet as a gift.
However, clothing (2.5 percent), travel or concert tickets (5 percent) and cosmetics (5.2 percent) are less popular in the Free State.
